Cookies and similar storage
| What | Purpose | When |
|---|---|---|
| Consent choice (local storage) | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected cookies | After you choose |
| Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) | Count visits and tool use | Only if you accept |
| Google advertising cookies | Show, limit and measure ads; personalise ads | Personalisation only if you accept |
The tools themselves don't need cookies and work the same whatever you choose.
How we place ads
- Ads are labelled “Advertisement” and sit between sections of a page, never inside a tool or beside its buttons.
- We don't use pop-ups, and ads never block or delay a tool.
- If you use an ad blocker, every tool still works.
Third-party vendors
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this and other websites. Google's advertising cookies enable it and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ad Settings or aboutads.info.
