How to use the TikTok calculator
- Enter the views you want to estimate: one video, a week or a month.
- Set the share of those views that qualify. Views on videos under one minute, views from outside the For You feed, and repeat or very short views don't count, so this is often well below 100%.
- Enter RPMs. Once you're in the programme, the Creator Rewards dashboard shows your estimated rewards and qualified views; divide the first by the second and multiply by 1,000 to get your RPM.
How the Creator Rewards Program works
TikTok replaced the old Creator Fund with the Creator Rewards Program, which only rewards videos longer than one minute. TikTok says rewards depend on four things: originality, play duration (watch time and finish rate), search value (how well a video matches what people search for) and audience engagement (likes, comments and shares). So two videos with the same views can earn very different amounts, which is why the calculator asks for a range rather than one number.
Who can join
According to TikTok's help centre, you need to:
- be at least 18 (19 in South Korea) and post from a country where the programme is available;
- have a personal account in good standing (business, government and political accounts aren't eligible);
- have at least 10,000 followers and at least 100,000 video views in the last 30 days.
Which videos earn
- Original content you filmed and produced yourself. Duets, Stitches and sponsored posts don't qualify.
- At least one minute long, and posted after you joined the programme.
- At least 1,000 qualified For You views. A view only counts once per account, has to last more than 5 seconds, and doesn't count if the viewer marked “Not interested”.
Worked examples
Example 1. A two-minute video gets 500,000 views and 60% qualify. At a $0.70 RPM: 500,000 × 0.60 = 300,000 qualified views; 300,000 ÷ 1,000 × $0.70 = $210. At $0.40 it would be $120.
Example 2. A creator posts three eligible videos a week averaging 80,000 views each, and 50% qualify. That's about 1,040,000 views a month, 520,000 qualified. At $0.50 that's about $260 a month. Halving the qualifying share (shorter watch time, more views from outside For You) halves the result, which shows why retention matters more than raw views.
Raising what each view earns
- Make every second count past the one-minute mark. Play duration is part of the formula, so pad-free videos that people finish do better than long ones they abandon.
- Answer searches. TikTok rewards search value. Clear spoken keywords, on-screen text and a focused caption help. Our hashtag generator helps you pick a few specific tags.
- Stay original. Reposted clips and reaction-only videos risk being ineligible.
- Diversify. Rewards are one income stream. Brand deals often pay more per video; estimate a fair price with the sponsored post calculator.
As with all our calculators, the starting RPMs are example inputs, not averages. TikTok doesn't publish a standard rate, and figures shared online vary a lot by country and niche.
Frequently asked questions
How much does TikTok pay per 1,000 views?
There's no fixed rate. Creator Rewards depend on qualified views, originality, watch time, search value and engagement. Use your own dashboard figures: rewards ÷ qualified views × 1,000.
How many followers do you need to get paid on TikTok?
The Creator Rewards Program requires at least 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in the last 30 days, plus age, account and country requirements.
Do videos under one minute earn anything?
Not through the Creator Rewards Program. Videos must be longer than one minute to qualify.
Is this the same as the TikTok Creator Fund?
No. The Creator Fund was replaced by the Creator Rewards Program, which uses a different formula and only rewards videos longer than a minute.
Is my data stored?
No. The calculator runs in your browser. See how our tools work.
